Toolpath Editing for Surface Rough

I am having an issue shortening a toolpath generated by this function. Basically, I have already roughed out the structure of a pocket with a 1" endmill and now I am just trying to go around islands that are in the pocket with a smaller .456" ball endmill for surface finish purposes (this is a plastic injection mold). I am self taught with MasterCAM and I found the toolpath editor but the issue I have is when I delete the toolpaths that take the floor of the pocket down another level it seems to delete the rapids needed to avoid collision. I haven't run the program yet, but the verify simulator indicates that it will crash.

Is there a way to do this so I can avoid having my tool cut air for so long?

Any help is appreciated.
