  1. Using surface high speed waterline this appears to have worked as far as the verification in program goes anyway. Thanks much for your assistance.
  2. I am using MasterCAM X4 mill level 3 I believe. And I will check to see if it has the function you suggested. Ill get back to you about it. Thanks.
  3. I am having an issue shortening a toolpath generated by this function. Basically, I have already roughed out the structure of a pocket with a 1" endmill and now I am just trying to go around islands that are in the pocket with a smaller .456" ball endmill for surface finish purposes (this is a plastic injection mold). I am self taught with MasterCAM and I found the toolpath editor but the issue I have is when I delete the toolpaths that take the floor of the pocket down another level it seems to delete the rapids needed to avoid collision. I haven't run the program yet, but the verify simulator indicates that it will crash. Is there a way to do this so I can avoid having my tool cut air for so long? Any help is appreciated.
  4. The company I work for creates molds for plastics. I have been working here about a month now and teaching myself how to use Mastercam with no use prior to my employment here. I am having an issue because we need to have a mold retooled and have the toolpaths reprogrammed. The issue that I am having is that the geometry has already been converted to a solid figure, so it is not letting me manipulate the current geometry in terms of translating smaller pieces of the solid. Is is possible to get rid of the solid long enough to manipulate the placement of certain features and then put it back into the solid form afterwards? We are using MastercamX4 if that makes any difference. Thanks for any/all help.
