I running a #25 drill at 2700 rpm feeding at 5.1 and drilling .460 deep. Tapping it with 10-24 tap at 720 rpm feeding 30. Also tapping a pre-drilled hole with an 8M x 1.00 running at 249 rpm feeding at 9.8 for a .660 deep hole. Can I run faster on any of this? Is it to fast? Or what?

Or What.

Call me old fashioned but that's to fast.

I was raised with the "Save the cutter" theory.

Also 249 at 9.8 (Non nominal) tells me

Something is calculating this for you..

You could slow it down there,

or at the controller to experiment.

Edit: Some controllers have a minimum speed

For tapping, maybe you cant go any slower?
