all the pro/e contractors i know work on site. they don't bring work home so i don't know if there is any need for a proe license.

last time i checked there was a package for around $5000. but of course it's not full blown.

You got that right. I'm sure their CAD/Design stuff is powerful and great, but man, the last time I checked out their CAM (8 months ago) ... rolleyes.gif it was horrible! Cumbersome, not intuitive, written for geniuses. I think I need about a 25 point IQ boost before programming with that stuff.

Thanks for the encouragement pronc and ssaults.

Do you know if you have to purchase the assembly module to do design in PROE ? I hadn't even considered buying and learning PROE. But if that is what it is going to take to keep my family fed, I will do it.....somehow.....

I don't know if assembly is included with the pro e base seat. I believe the price has come down but is still high. I started designing with pro e this year. It is powerful and with time (with me a lot of time and hair pulling) biggrin.gif you can do awesome parts.

GOOD LUCK!! smile.gif

Man if I could get a stripped down PROE solid modeler for that, it wouldn't be so bad.

All I would want it for is to just build a model, nothing else.
