Optimizing for smooth high speed operation of 4/5 axis motion.

So I am sick of reading and not getting anywhere on this.  I am trying to figure out what is reasonable as far as feeds are concerned and how to get the machine to operate smoothly at high feeds.  I have AICC-II and High Speed Processing on my data sheet, so I would assume that means I have 600 block lookahead.  That being said, if I turn up the toolpath resolution, I end up with very slow feeds.  I regularly need to be feeding in the 10-30k mm/min range linear and 20-30k deg/min rotary.  Every so often I get lucky and it just plain cruises, but this is usually with a course toolpath on very simple geo.  But then it will run up to a sharp and will overshoot...., as if the lookahead isn't doing anything.  Can't make heads or tails of it.

CMS Antares Router = Very capable if I can figure out how to push its limits.  Most of the time I am dealing with 4+1 paths, 5ax usually runs with same issues as my 4+1, but with added issues due to h/h config and reversal of linear axes due to rotary changes (those I understand the reason behind).

What might I be missing?

Who is best to call for help?

Are there options that I don't have but should have to take advantage of increased program execution speed?

Much thanks in advance.  If possible I would like to work on creating a resource for people in similar boat as me, as the Fanyuk books are so descriptive.
