Usage of ASCII character codes

Recommended Posts

Hello,

All our posts date back to X3 and my reseller advised that we should update them using the latest MP-Master.

I ran across something I haven't seen in a post yet. In the following line from the MP-Master the ascii code for space is used. Why is it used in this manner and why would I want to use it in this manner? The reason I ask is that it usage does not seem to be consistent through out the post.

#scomm_str, 32, *smonth, "- ", *day$, "- ", *year$, 32,32, *hour, ":", *min, [if time$ < 12, " AM"], [if time$ >= 12, " PM"], scomm_end, e$

 Thanks

Benz

They wanted a specific number of spaces on that line and by using the ANSII process they were able to get no spaces elsewhere in the posted code, but get the spaces they wanted on that line.
