testing for gcode mode

Recommended Posts

I have a drag knife post I've been working on that needs an odd output. For the knife to lower into cutting position it has to read a G01 on a line by itself.

When I have an arc asthe 1st move of a profile, I still need the "G01" line by itself.

Is there a way I can test what my gcode mode is? This is what my gcode string table looks like:

# Motion G code selection
sg00 : "G00" #Rapid
sg01 : "G01" #Linear feed
sg02 : "G02" #Circular interpolation CW
sg03 : "G03" #Circular interpolation CCW
sg04 : "G04" #Dwell
sgcode : "" #Target for string

fstrsel sg00 gcode$ sgcode 5 -1
