Lathe Question

Hello All!

How do I use T/C Plane to machine a second setup on the backside of a part for the Lathe. I would like to machine the front of the part (Setup A), stop, turn the part around and machine the back (Setup B). The Cplane I've setup is 'n4'. I do this all the time in mill, but in Lathe I can't find the field for T/C Plane in the operation parameters.

Please don't tell me it can't be done, and that I have to make two seperate files!! frown.gif

Thanks in advance,

Kathy

Usually,

I'll create another Level and call it 2nd Operation. Then I'll copy the geometry to that new level and manipulate it as needed then when I go to machine it, I create another Group and call it 2nd Operation as well. Do your toolpaths, make sure you put an M0 so that you don't make a mess.

You can't use T/C planes for turning ops.

You pretty much have to start over, however, I saw a c-hook at Westec that flipped the part for you and mantained the boundaries from the first side operations. It was called transfer or something like that. It's not on the install disk, but someone from CNC was using it. You might try e-mailing [email protected] and asking about it.
