  1. Where can I find "ACTUAL" hours on a machine with a Fanuc 21i control? I have been looking at a 2005 machine that says it has 900 operating hours and 291 cutting hours on it. I know this isnt correct by the looks of it. Is parameter 6750-6754 the only place the hours are logged? I guess anyone can change the time in these parameters or it can be reset if the sram is reloaded. I think I pi**ed the seller off when I told him he was FOS if he thought I believed it had those hours on it.

  2. I have this happen as well. And be careful because when its a bullmill the parameters are different than a chamfer mill.

If I select 2d chamfer and it shows as a bullmill I complete parameters, accept operation and open the operation back up, it will then show the correct tool and parameters.

  3. Yeah, Job Boss will match as well.

Ask E2 if you can do decimal quantities. It rounds everything to whole numbers. It bit my a** a bunch of times. If you want 10.400" it will round it too 10".

With E2 you DONT get out what you put in. But, you have to do what you think is right for your company. I just got tired of the promises E2 never delivered on for over 8 years. With an ERP system if your looking to cheap out you will pay for it everyday.

  4. We used it until the middle of 2014 and ended it and went full Job Boss starting 2015.

Job Boss now is based off of SQL and is much better. E2 was still Access or you could upgrade to the SQL for a pretty penny.

E2 will sell you enough to get started and get you hooked then ram it in you once you see the other modules you need.

  5. We have had both. JobBoss is way way way better than E2. E2 is still on version 7 and has been for well over 10 years. your maint. will get you eye candy and their bug fixes. They have promised version 8 since IMTS 2006 if that tells you anything. Everytime you ask its always sometime after the first of the year.

  6. We are in the process of getting a Doosan Mill / Turn machine. What BMT tooling is the best bang for the buck. Doosan is recommending Eppinger. Anyone have any experience with this? Is it good quality?

Are there any that use capto? Im having trouble finding any.

What other brands are good quality?

    Thanks!!!

  7. Anyone notice if you have a machine group in the ops manager. You go to design in machine type. Then delete all operations, groups and tools in ops manager. Now try to load a new machine group in the ops manager. It does not load the correct tool bar state. You have to close MC and reopen. Ram saver didnt work, you have to close and reopen.

  8. I have been working on a setup sheet in active reports. I think I know the answer but want to make sure first. I have a sub report for operation info and a sub report for tool info. If I want to combine these into the same report I will have to create another report and add these two sub reports to it. Is this correct? I had first tried to add the tool info sub to the operation sub. But, that didn't work. I sent this in to support, but I know they are busy. Thought maybe some one here may be an active reports whiz.

    Thanks,

  9. Well I believe I have narrowed it down to a few things. I went back and loaded the default.mtb from the install and it works fine. So, it has to be either:

A - A custom name I gave the mtb file.

    B - The name had a - in it.

C - The name was all caps.

Only difference between the two. If I blow away the GUI file in the registry will it create a new one when I reopen MC? Or, will I have to do a repair install? Or, is there certain files I can hose in the registry and go from there?

I will dig a little deeper tomorrow to see if I can pinpoint the issue.
