  1. Hey guys - (Thanks for the good word, Jay [er... um... or is that 'Cadcam'?] :-) To answer your questions, kwolf... YES - PostHaste is available for MasterCam, and while we have spoken to several people in the MC distribution chain, we have no formal arrangement with MC (yet). The interest level has increased since PostHaste is now packaged with Gibbs (as it has also been with Surfcam for quite a few years), but individual MC users CAN obtain PostHaste directly from Ground Support. ( www.postPROCESSOR.com ) YES - it is very easy to use! It's based on a template that looks like NC code. (See the site above [or better yet, the link on CadCam's earlier message])... A CNC PROGRAMMER can easily modify a post! NO - it is NOT 'graphic' (there is no GUI) - and there is a very good reason for this: You don't need or want a GUI to edit NC code, so (since the post template looks like NC code), a GUI would just get in the way and add more confusion. Just use whatever editor YOU want instead. GUIs also suck up more development and support overhead for us. We'd rather spend the time making PostHASTE BETTER and FASTER - not just 'prettier' (...at the expense of also making it more confusing)! ... We've got 12 CNC machines in our shop - with machines coming & going all the time. That is why we developed PostHASTE: we need to make PARTS, not spend time messing with postprocessor modifications. If you've got multiple machines, then PostHaste is a no-brainer. It's definitely the 'better mousetrap'. Thanks for listening. With highest regards, Paul Andrews Ground Support 805-523-9529 NOTE: Normally I refrain from posting 'blatantly promotional' messages on this forum, but I felt that the interest expressed (by many forum members) was best addressed via a direct response like this. (Especially since this appears to be a fairly common concern of MC users.) Please forgive me if this was too 'spammy'. We hope that the information above was helpful to you.
  2. Hey all - This is probably a REALLY dumb question, but I've been looking at a lathe NCI file and Mill NCI file, and I need to figure out how to get the software we've written (that reads NCI files) to tell the difference. I didn't see anything in the records that indicates what 'type' of machine (Lathe, Mill, Wire, etc.) the NCI file is intended for. Is there any way? Feel free to respond to my email: [email protected] Thanks! - Paul
  3. Andrew - Have you checked out PostHASTE? It will work with both MasterCAM NCI files (no need for conversion!)AND APT CL files (from Pro-E or any other CAM system). The guys at Printronix have Mastercam and Pro-E and use PostHASTE for both! Check out... www.postprocessor.com ... Hope this helps. Sincerely, Paul
  4. Using PostHASTE (NOT the "standard" MasterCam post), we've done quite a few posts for various Bandits (including level 3). If you'd like to send us... - ANY known GOOD sample NC program for that machine and - a sample NCI file (does NOT need to match the program sample), ...we'll run it through for you and send it to you so you can see how it looks compared to your sample. This month (October), you can get PostHASTE for $500 (U.S.) - which is a great deal because it comes with a post library - and you (anyone!) can EASILY edit them (WITHOUT a degree in computer programming)! Look forward to helping you - Paul
  5. If you don't find what you need (from the other replies above), we may be able to help - we do custom posts for ANY machine. If you would like us get back to you with a quote, please send 2 things: - a sample WORKING program (so that we can see what you need) and - a Sample NCI file that is representative of the type of machining you do (this does NOT need to match the sample program). Thanks! Paul
  6. Using PostHASTE (NOT the "standard" MasterCam post), we've done a post for YASNAC LX3, HITEC-TURN 40. If you'd like to send us... - ANY known GOOD sample NC program for that machine and - a sample NCI file (does NOT need to match the program sample), ...we'll run it through for you and send it to you so you can see how it looks compared to your sample. This month (October), you can get PostHASTE for $500 (U.S.) - which is a great deal because it comes with a post library - you can EASILY edit them (WITHOUT a degree in computer programing)! Hope we can help you - Paul
  7. We may be able to help - we do custom posts for ANY machine. Please send us a sample working program (so that we can see what you need) and we'll be glad to get back to you with a quote. Thanks! Paul [email protected]
