  1. It's the software we use to program all of our probing, both setup and in process inspections.  We run the probing cycles through Vericut to make sure there are no errors and we have had pretty good success so far.

  2. Good morning James, we have a meeting set up with Andrew Templin tomorrow to discuss our needs and timeline.  Looking forward to digging deeper into the  options and capabilities of the 100H.  One question on the programming side, the Kinematic configuration of the 100H.  Do you just use top as your WCS or Front like you would on a traditional Horizontal machine?

  3. I am in the fortunate position  to research for a new machining center to process some 34 X 15 X 10 in Inconel 725 parts.

    My short list so far.

Matsuura MAM72-100H (personal favorite because of chip control)

    DMG Mori Mono Block 85

    Okuma MU8000V

Mazak i-800 NEO ( Not quite sure about this one, may have to step up to the 1050)

I also have a RFQ for Vericut, but the Matsuura comes with Camplete so that's a plus

Are there any other machines out there that I am missing?   I have a meeting Thursday with the Matsuura salesman.

    Thanks,

    Ricky

  4. Just right click on the tool in the tool page within the toolpath and select edit projection.  It will take you back to the graphics screen and you can move the model around and select a point on the model and a slider will appear and you can move that or just type in a value.  Then hit enter and it will take you back to the toolpath page. Hope that helps.

  5. I just built a new rig and there wasn't any RTX video cards available.  So I've got an Asus ROG Strix RX6700XT for video and WOW is all I can say!!  AMD has come so far with their drivers and it runs Mcam 2022 so smooth!!  I've got an intel 11700k and a Z590 Mobo with 32 gigs of 3600 mhz ram running CL16, I put a 2 terabyte Samsung 980pro gen4 NVME drive.

I think the days of Radeon cards not playing nice with Mastercam are pretty much over.  I know in the past they just didn't play well with open gl programs, but I took a chance and I can say it runs silky smooth!  I loaded an XT model of a Haas VM2 off of the Haas website and man I can spin the model so fast and no hiccups at all.  I put edge curves on all edges to see how it would handle that and smooth as silk still. I would not have believed it, but I am impressed!!

  6. I hear everyone saying this is the buggiest release yet, but it seems like we have forgot about the tool renumbering bus a few releases back.  That was one that really put a hurting on workflow!!

  7. If your going to pocket inside to out, I would try dynamic with a custom entry.  Just a line in the middle will do, also give it some additional slot width.  I just don't like helixing in and recutting chips in Ti.  I use custom entry on just about anything I can, you can play around and really reduce some cycle time and it can make for some pretty cool paths.

  8. One thing to not discount is having full access to the Mastercam Web site.  There are useful tool and holder libraries, and tutorials and sample files that can help you understand some of the new toolpath's and their settings. The forum has quite a few CNC software employees on everyday and can help with any bugs that may pop up and get them logged in to hopefully get them corrected.

One of these with their PH systems would be pretty bang up!!  I ran a DMU_50 with HSK 20K spindle and man that was a fun machine to run!!

The probe routines are top notch and a very accurate and fast machine.  The one flaw that I saw with it was chip handling,  if you are really getting after it the conveyor had a hard time keeping up.  Oh yeah, and don't break an endmill.  If it hits the door glass and breaks it, it's $10,000 to replace!!!!
