I changed the I/O channel to 5 (it was set to 15) FOCAS error shows up when transferring from anything to the Dataserver. Also when running in Random Mode (we only have 2 pallets) it pulls the program from the Library, so maybe I need to figure out how to M198 from Library to Dataserver? Or figure out how to point Random mode to the Dataserver, but then we might run into issues with all the motion controls (tool change, Pallet changes, probing.. all the 8000-9000 programs)

Now we seem to be getting somewhere... OK so I set parameter 929=1. The other issue is that whenever trying to transfer programs to the Dataserver I get a FOCAS Error and this error is non-resettable. Need to power cycle to reset. I was able to send from PCMCIA to Dataserver, but I do not believe it is 100%.. it is almost like it is a hit or miss. Lastly I believe when running in Random mode the programs that I assign to the pallets come from the Library and not the Dataserver. Thanks for any more insight you have. Justin

OK old thread yes, and new user to this forum too... I have a Makino A51nx with Pro5 control, I purchased a data server as a was in increase the program storage size. But I think I screwed up as we cannot really run programs from it. I was sold on it as a way to basically increase the "library" size from the lame a$$ 500kb to 16gb.. It would be great if it worked but I feel that the Fanuc techs and the Makino techs have ZERO idea how to do this. So now we are down and have no real way to run. Parameters were changed and I feel like I am spiraling down an endless hole of despair. Anyone on here an "Expert" on both the datacenters and the Makino control? Help would be greatly appreciated.
