  1. Hi, 1st post so here goes. I'd like to add to this that outputting data from fanuc can also be achieved through the embedded port (ch 9) which then offers the possibilty of sending .dat files to a folder on a windows server. The problem is the data server is networked via a cable and isn't a channel, so users open the pcmia/usb port and write to that, but you can also use either 2 cables or, because only 4 pins of the 8 are used in a cat5 cable, you can use a splitter and short cable going to the embedded port and another going to the data server port and then obviously the same at the other end. This now allows you to read/write programs to a network using the data server and also switch to channel 9 (R9) and write dat files to a network drive. So any information, cycle times, cycle end, insp. data etc can now be sent to a folder on a network which can the be monitored for changes via software such as Folder monitor or watch 4 folder, and to add to that, the software can then send the data to a printer, or emails, notifications which include the dat file sent from the cnc. Edit* The data server is set with an ip address and networked , the embedded is set with a different ip address and can be routed to a different folder/drive etc. Hope this is of some use to someone.
