  1. Can I override the Tool Number # in the Operation Manager (Define Tool Dialog) using a CHooks program. Which is the Variable to be used used to set this tool number for an operation. By default Mastercam provides the tool numbers as 1,2,3,4 in sequence for all the operations. How do i override this in my program. I used op.tl.tlno =5; where tlno is an unsigned long. Here the tool number is getting overridden to the new tool number. Thanks Viswanathan
  2. Yes. I am also using v9.1MR304 version of Mastercam. How should i create the tool geometry to be free from this bug. Can i create the tool profile with tool tip as 0,0,0. How does the tool profile .mc9 files go with the parent mc9 files if i have to shift to another machine. Please help me on this Thanks
  3. In Mill, tool verification for custom tool profile is not displayed. The program accepts the the tool profile, displays it on the image, regenerates the operation, even in backplotting the tool is appearing, but when it comes to verify the custom tools alone are not appearing or not simulating the toolpath. Can anyone please help me out on this. Thanks Viswanathan
  4. Let me make it simple. Can Sub program calls take parameters? That is when we call a sub program number can we pass parameters along with Sub program number which the controller can understand? Like this.... N182 M98 G65 P5555 K34.5 M35.0 Q375.0 R0.3 Here 5555 is the sub program number are the parameters. Namely 1st, 2nd and 3rd plunge depths. Thanks
  5. Here the post calls the Sub program number based on the requirement. But basically I need my single Sub program that has more than one parameter that can be called based on the requirements. For example if my custom operation is a Single Plunge operation it should take a single parameter ( a Depth). If the operation is a two plunge operation, it takes two and for a 3 plunge operation , 3 depths. Thanks.
  6. Can the post be customised to call a Sub program with more than one arguments. I was looking for creating a sub program that is more generic that works according the arguments supplied. Since the controller has limited storage space my sub program needs to be generic to support more functionalities. Thanks Viswanathan
  7. Is there a way to Automate toolpathing and operations in Mastercam Lathe using either CHooks or VBscript. VBscript is not supporting Lathe. Have anybody tried upon it using CHooks. Even I tried it using .OP9 files. I couldnt create some of the operations using program. Thanks
  8. Using Mastercam VBscript is it possible to create a 2d profile, chain it and create the toolpath for a Lathe Job. The VBscript functions only have functions to create operations in Mill. Are there functions to create rough, face or a finish operation in Lathe. Please help me on this. The mastercam VBscript help available is not much clear on this issue. Thanks, vishu
  9. I have a query related to subprograms in Mill 9.1. How can we customise the post processor to use subprograms in the NC code. In mastercam Mill 9.1 Where can we specify the subprogram number and other informations. By the way Can a subprogram be used for specific operation requirements for varied speeds and feeds instead of just repeated lines of NC code (for transform and non transform operations). Thanks
  10. For milling a Stepped hole as shown in figure with 6 or 7 steps with descending diameters, I have a form tooling operation. I need to use different feeds and speeds within this single operation for achieving a better surface finish. How can I Implement this in Mastercam Mill 9.1. Can I use a subprogram to have different speed and feed within a single operation. If it can be done how can I do it. Thanks in Advance, Viswanathan

  12. I was just using the Mill version of Mastercam 9.1 MR0305. I just wanted to know like the VBScript automation available with the installation is separate for each module (Mill, Lathe , Router etc) or is the common interface for all. Is there any help or tutorial available for Lathe VBscript as I am planning for a lathe in future. I would like to know the capabilities of Lathe VBscript. Thanks
  13. Whenever I do a stock transfer using a 3d model as the reference geometry, the model geometry is not shifting to the other spindle. If I use a 2d geometry for reference it is transferred easily. Is there any trick in this. Thanks in advance. Viswanathan
  14. Hello, I have a query on Mastercam Lathe version 9. I have created a model inside Lathe and configured the operations for the model. The operations consist of Stock transfer operation also to perform operation on both side of the workpiece. After defining all the operation for the model, When I open the Job Setup dialog box-> Boundaries -> Stock Parameters, the settings corresponding to the currently active MC9 file is not retained. When I click on ok without making any modifications the original settings is not retained. The Stock parameters and the chuck parameters gets modified. Due to the this the Correct Stock boundaries and chuck paramaters are altered and the toolpath is no more correct. Can anyone please suggest me whether I am going wrong somewhere or what's the problem there. Thanks Viswanathan
  15. Hello, I am a new user of Mastercam. At the outset i would like to know whether we could do through some application programming interface the following. 1. Open Master cam application 2. Open a file 3. Process using VBscript 4. Close application. Since I am using cad application like Inventor for modelling, I would like to automate the cad part of it. Thanks in Advance Viswanathan
