  1. jlw, thanks for the advice. Saving the stock model by way of verify was able to orient and locate the part exactly. Sorry, cannot share the file, sensitive nature. Thanks for everyone's input Cheers
  2. Colin, Thanks for the advice. Starting to look more like what I require. Only issue now is when importing STL file into the workspace, it is rotated and translated way off where it should be related. Any suggestions on resolving this?
  3. FYI. 3D-Wire in magenta represents the stock model.
  4. So I created a boundary from the outside profile of the material stock, however, it generates alot of air motion cuts which I'm having trouble resolving.
  5. Thanks for all suggestions. If I'm understanding it correctly the proposed solutions are in-effect creating 2D boundaries as projections from 3D surfaces? The issue I'm having is that the 2D boundaries change w.r.t Z levels, which is why I'm hoping to use surfaces as containment (which SurfCAM readily supports). Are there such options? See Image
  6. Please help... I'm running behind on a programming job
  7. Is there a way to utilize surfaces as material boundaries particularly for the Opti Roughing strategies? I'm working from a wire-edm workpiece which would be best described with surfaces rather than 3D-wireframe for the material boundaries. Thanks ahead for your time. Cheers
  8. Gcode, yes I've tried I K and the same issue exists. I'm fairly confident MasterCAM is rounding off the numbers which is why it's giving me faults on some arc motions while not others and the difference I see between them is the decimal place. I could be wrong. Also if anyone knows how I can force output of K modifiers when it's 0 might help. Thanks.
  9. Hi I'm trying to find where in the generic post MPFLAN.pst can I force out the R modifier or I,K for cir interoplation to 10^-7 places in Metric. The issue I'm having is that the controller faults on lines of code not outputting R modifiers on cir interpolation moves to the 10^-7 decimal place. So my assumption is that MasterCAM is somehow rounding off the code and it's not exactly intersecting the endpoint of the arc, so the fix "I'm assuming" is forcing MasterCAM to output to the 10^-7 place on all R modifiers. My thought unless someone can please suggest anything different. And yes the machine does hold displacement to that decimal value. Thanks
  10. Oh by the way I'm just using the generic MPFLAN.PST
  11. Anyone know how I can change the way mastercam outputs arc definitions? Currently it defines arcs from the end point to the CC. I'd like it to output from start point to CC. Just the way this Aerotech controller understands arcs. Also I need it to output the Z axis as a Y label. Thanks. Any help is appreciated.
