  1. That gives me the M01 I wanted it leaves the / in but as long as the block delete isn't turned

    on it should work.

I have another question. I'm cutting taper on the first 2 passess and land cut on the last pass. Only thing is when you select taper it post the angle in the sub-program and it actually needs to be in the main program other wise all 3 passess are cut on the taper angle.

I usually don't use sub-programs programming because the openings are smaller but these and larger and a lot of little lines so I decided to program it using subs to hold down on program size.

  2. I'm cutting some large shapes on a detail the first 2 cuts are angled and the last one is a land cut. My question is when I post it out using subprograms I have a stop point programed so I can pull the slug when it burns through and on the other 2 passess I dont need it to stop. The post is outputting a block delete / and I rather it output an M01. Where in the post might I find the string I need to change to have it output m01 instead of block delete I guess that's my real question? confused.gif

  3. It happens to me if I have a wire machine group before a mill machine group, Don't know why? No warnings or nothing when I post the program either but if I place my mill machine group before my wire machine group it'll post correctlly. I'm using the fadal format 3 post and Mits wire post.

  4. Solids is a great investment. Drawing or making changes to a solid model is so much easier. For instance you need to move a bolt hole you move the geo. where you want it, regenerate the solid and it's done in about 2 min. but a surface model to move a bolt hole you would have to delete top and bottom surface move the hole surface then create new top and bottom surfaces and cut to curves all the openings back in. Just to update the model for moving one hole and might take 20 min. to do also.

So IMHO solids is worth every penny you pay for it. cheers.gif

  5. It doesn't work for me either. I'm beginning to wonder if the good really out ways the bad since X came out. I never had trouble with v9 but I've had some type of issue with every release of X and I now have X2-MR2-Sp1. curse.gif

  6. Thanks, I just pulled it from the machine and ground the scrap out of the way so I could see what I had burnt looked like and one spot has a good size pit not quite a honey comb but several pits. It was suppose to have been tig welded but it looks like a rushed mig weld instead very little penetration. So I'm having the grind it out and re-weled it. With all the pits right at the trim edge the first hit in the press and it would be busted out and back in the shop.

And thanks again for the info.

  7. I'm using a Mits. FX20 wedm and I'm cutting a piece of A-2 that's been welded and it's cut it so far then stopped and now has a 30 second contact fault and I can't get it to start cutting. The 3rd shift operator stopped it and had it start from the other direction and it cut so far and stopped with same fault.

I imagine the weld has pulled some chrome or whatever out and made it super hard.

My question is does anybody have any ideas on how to modify the E-pack to get it to cut? Which setting to change? banghead.gif

    Thanks in Advance

  9. I'll try,to make them simple as I can.

    After you select utilites ,

select number/locator then enter offset number and edgefinder dia. and rpm

    Then select 5 Find Midpoint

Then jog the machine in the direction of the edge you want to pick up once you have found the edge hit manual and it will return you to the midpoint screen then select p for x,y pickup then z pickup or 0 then enter.

Now selest jog again and jog the machine to the other edge once you find it hit manual and it'll return you back to the midpoint screen and select p x,y pickup and same as above for z.

Then select compute and it will give you the midpoint.

And if you select insert it will load that Dim. as your selected X,Y offset.

    I hope this helps! cheers.gif
