I noticed change from 6 to 7. When creating setup sheet in 6 the 2 files mentioned were put in root folder where Mastercam file was. Now in 7 it defaults those 2 files to my documents folder. Is there something I can do to get them in root directory and not fill my documents folder?
Thanks
X+ for version 6 is there one? The set up file for 5 i downloaded only loads in non english and did not seem to work in 6. Help me if you can. Thanks Jeff
It seems to run real slow when I have both Mill & Wire paths in file. Regen of tool paths has really slowed. Also will not display mill tool paths after adding wire paths. Any tips.
when I try to do a no core. this is the message I get. 'pocket(stanard)' not found in your operation defaults file C:mcamxwireopswire_inch.defaults.
I know there is one there i have altered the settings in it.
Plus it does not make a good program. tries to thread wire out in space then feed back into hole center be fore pocketing.
Any ideas?
that is all I was doing was getting it logged. and yes put red arrow back into mill area. there is other minor problems with both in same file but I will work around them till The next update.
here is a glitch I am getting. I have programed a block for mill and add my next machine group and do my wire paths. When I see I need to add another toll to the mill paths. I add it and get this error when i got to post.
Cannot read from nci file
id#6 contour 2-d
if I go and delte wire paths and machine group and add extra mill tool path to the first mill machine group. it works just fine. then i have to redo wire from scratch.
I found my wire paths, but they show up set to top contruction view. I had the tool plane, construction plane set to the plane needed before I began programing. The program puts out the proper x,y cord. Is there a setting to fix this?
here is what the post says to do.
# Coolant output code selection for X style coolant
# Note: To enable X style coolant, click on the General Machine Parameters icon
# in the Machine Definition Manager, Coolant tab, disable first check box
# Output of X style coolant commands in this post is controlled by pcan, pcan1, & pcan2
here is what i get when i do that.

what do I do next?
I want to use this post, because of all the new options in MCX. which my old post does not support. The only problem in getting it to work it will not post a m89 to shut off through tool colant.
This is in post now.
sm09 M9 #Coolant Off
sm08 M8 #Coolant Flood
sm08_1 M8 #Coolant Mist
sm08_2 M8 #Coolant Tool
scoolant #Target for string
fstrsel sm09 coolant$ scoolant 4 -1
This is what i changed it to from my old post. Still does not help.
# Coolant M code selection
sm09 M9 #Coolant Off
sm08 M8 #Coolant Flood
sm08_1 M8 #Coolant Mist
sm08_2 M88 #Coolant Tool
sm07 M89 #Coolant Tool off
scoolant #Target for string
fstrsel sm09 coolant$ scoolant 5 -1
What else am I missing?
I have 3 post for 3 differnet machines. none will turn on coolant. All add 30 to tool # for length and dia offset. For haas tool# length and dia should be same
For kurt tool# & length same dia add 20
older okuma tool# and length same always D32 for dia offset.
thanks for any help
When we did overright install on MR1 we lost the one I down loaded from here can anyone direct me to it agian? Or tell me how to bring the tool bar back in mr1. I dont even remeber the name of the file I downloaded. Thanks for any help.
I can turn on or off my wire path display. they show right after I make contour, then dissappear. they also dont show up when back plotting. What setting am I missing?
I dont see what you are talking about. I have my wcs set to bottom to machine the part. in stock set up i have stock plane set to bottom. in verify the light comes from top so side I am lookng at is dark. can barly see it. In setting config I sdont see how I can change that.
It was at first but I filled in the info. I was missing overall length. It then showed a tool in blue lines, but message is still there. I even save close and reopen it and same thing. I can get the time if I pick one tool at a time. Another file I got time for whole job. So maybe something in just that one file. It is not really a big deal. Just wondering what I was doing wrong.
