We are running HAAS equipment. We have one VF2 & one VF3. I was told that there was some setting in the config info of MasterCam that we could set for the machines to go to a programed home for each tool change.
We continue to make larger molds, and the tools are getting longer. Therefore the Z direction has become more important. How do you move the parts all the way to the positive X direction to make a tool change? It would be nice to make this a set position, so we would not have to remember where the parts are located during a tool change.

Thanks everyone for your input. We have changed our cutters to OSG and the problem has gone away. We are now feeding 10 IPM, and have not broke a cutter yet. The quality of the cutter was the problem.
Thanks again for all the help.

The file post fine. It just crashes when you run the machine. We are using a 1.250 inche roughing tool 3.625 inches long for the HSM Pocket Strategy. It is crashing through the side about 2.0 inches down from outside-in.
Not sure about the code question. I am not familiar with the NC code. The toolpath is HSM Pocket Strategy. The crash occurs in the X-Y movement (Tool is moving from the outside to the inside of the part), Using full retracts, no rapid down movement, rapid plane is well above the highest point on the piece.
Been running Mcam9 for 6 months with HSM. In the last two weeks been having problem with roughing pocket tools crashing. Every thing verifies OK, but tools crash through parts mid-way through program. Thoughts?
