Okay I found my answer. If anyone is interested It is in the Fanuc 18i control, the 1008 parameter, bit 1 and 3 must be turn on and everything else turned off on the A-axis. This allows the rotary axis to move correctly. Thanks

As I am using a contour path with the 4th axis substition turned on for the Y axis. It is set for CW rotation, this produces the lettering right way around in verify. I tried using CCW the lettering is reversed in verify but the result is the same on the machine, the rotary head move the long way around. I've tried changing the machine def. file with no success.

Yes right. So I am using MasterCamX2 MR2 sp1. I have a Fadal Vertical mill with Fanuc 18i control.

I'm trying to machine lettering around a cylinder. The verify works fine. However when I start machining the 4th axis feeds the long way around leaving a line around the outside.
