I have to purchase a new computer soon, and short of having one built, it looks like I'll have to use Vista. Will MastercamX MR2 run on Vista Home Premium 32 or 64 bit Service Pack 1 ok. Should I expect some trouble, or will it run at all. Thanks H

I'm looking to buy a laptop to use Mastercam 3D and Solids. Any recomendations on which one to buy. I have found some with the Video card and memory that I need, but the processor speed seems low.1.5 to 1.8ghz. Is that fast enough for a laptop or should I find something over 3.0ghz. Thanks

I know version 8 has a perfect one for the 3axis. No need to edit and has spindle speed. I know that it wont't work with version 9 though.

Are the speeds and feeds acurate for tapping in the Mill operations?. Can I set a manual RPM rate and have Mastercam calculate the feed rate. Thanks

I teach a college course in Mastercam 2D. Since it's a beginning class, a lot of my students have no experience with the concept of CNC. We do not machine in this class and it's very difficult to get across the idea of tooling. Is there any source out there that I could get a video tape of actual CNC machine operations. It wouldn't have to be a tutorial, but just a demonstration of CNC machining a part. Thanks

My current Video Card is washing out when I run Mastercam and Autocad. Since I have to buy a new one, I would like one that will capture my running display on video tape. If anyone has experience using such a card, I would appreciate the Model number and price. Thanks Level H

I'm using Mill8 and usually draw in 2D. When hitting the F9 key I access the axis and origin crosshairs. What I don't understand is the value on the scale line. What I see is that it changes as you zoom-in and zoom-out but I don't see a useful purpose for this. I must be missing something. Can someone enlighten me to what is probably obvious. Thanks Level H

Is there anywhere in MC8 that you can globally set a color or linetype to an inividual level. I would like to set levels and colors up simular to the way AutoCad does. The only place I can find to attach a color and style is when setting center lines for arcs. If this is possible I would appreciate the information.
