I programed a 8 mm x 1.25 tap

using MC 7 - Generic Fadal Format 2 4 X mill MMD-7
When i bring in a customers dwf file into mastercam x8. I try to add demishions to the print and check there.
my demishions dont match. Why, what do i need to do.
customer said i need to set my scale, How do i do that.
Thank You
I have a casting job that is square. I need to machine .04 off each side.
I have two vises on the machine. is there to have Master Cam software do this example?
it machines the first side, than machine homes . I flip the parts and hit cycle start , it cuts side 2.
than machine homes again. I flip the parts and hit cycle start. cuts side 3
than homes again, I flip the parts for the fourth time and hit cycle start . after cutting , end of program.
I hand wrote the optional stop each time at the machine. but can MC X7 or X8 do this from the software?
If so please explain how
I am a one man show and this is the first time I have had to do this. but its much faster than running one part at a time flipping parts from one vise to another.
I want to put it in a vise with the radius going down stuck out the end of the vise.
Than machine from one side to the top than down the other side all the way down to the nose of the part.
right now TOP plane is on the side of the part.
this part was drew in solidworks. than brought into MX7.
I need to either rotate the part or move the origin 90 deg . if you open the file you will see what I'm asking.
I want to cut the part stuck out at the end of a vise.
How do I do this.
Thanks for you help
I am using the Generic fadal format 1 4x mill.mm07 post.
When I post a file it is leaving out the % in front of the program #.
what can I do so it post it with the %?
I know this is not a big deal but I thought I would ask anyhow.
its not the machine. I can send files using NC Fadal.
in Mastercam x7 I set the machine communications from ( settings / configuration / communication.
Its set to ...
Legacy
Hand Shack - Software / Baud rate - 9600 / echo terminal emulation / format - ASCll / Port # - com 3
Parity - Even / Data bits - 7 / stop bits - 1
( is that set right ? )
when I post code it goes to ( Code Export)
It says ( I must first save your machine configuration )
I need -- File Name ( ACSll ???? / Machine name / control name -----
what should I put for that ?
I am trying to set up my communications in MX 7. I set it all up in settings/ Communications
but when I post code and send a file, I get ( you need to set machine first)
I have been using NC Fadal. but decided to drop that with the new X7
What am I missing here ?
That help alot, The book doesnt show that,.
I have a couple more question.
1) a box pops up ( ToolPath/ Surface Selection) Do i need to click on any thing there? (contaiment ) does that apply here ?
2) when i did the toolpath the tool is going past the part when the tool goes up and down.
What controls how far the tool goes past the part,
What did you ckick on for the drive surface.
Thats what i'm haveing trouble with. After i select the tollpath i want, it ask for a drive surface. the book i have says click on ( all ) but it wants to cut the face and O.D. of part.
