  1. OK... I gave up on the mickey mouse post. I switched to "Generic Fanuc 3X Mill.pst" I'll update the other minor changes after I get this going. Here's what I'm getting... Why won't my post output the M52 to turn the air blast off??
  2. Thanks Lacky... I'm trying this right now. I'll let you know how it works. It's all starting to make sense now. I should explain a bit more about the post I'm using. We modified a version 9 post for our takumi. When we upgraded to X, we converted that post. Now with X2, we had to convert it again. So we aren't using an X2 post. If I don't get the results I want using this "mickey mouse" post arrangement, I'll definitely be looking at going with the X2 mpmaster. Good learning experience though...
  3. OK.. I tried the "x style" coolant commands and got frustrated. I have to modify something in my post to get these coolant options to work. I don't know what to modify in the post. I tried the easy way - two M codes on one line. The machine ignores M51 every time.
  4. I'm going to try the X style coolant that you mentioned. If that fails, I'm not sure if I can run two M codes on one line. Worth a shot though. Thanks Ron
  5. Hi, I'm trying to get my post to output both M51 and M07 for a few tools. For now, I changed my post so that it outputs M51 (air blast) when I turn "mist" on. I also want it to output an M07 when I turn mist on. It would be nice to output an M09 along with my M52 (air blast off) Here's the coolant block from my post (MP master modified for a Takumi VMC) # Coolant M code selection sm09 M09 #Coolant Off (Use sm09_0 through sm09_2) sm08 M08 #Coolant Flood sm08_1 M51 #Coolant Mist sm08_2 M08 #Coolant Tool sm09_0 M09 #Coolant Flood Off sm09_1 M52 #Coolant Mist Off sm09_2 M09 #Coolant Tool Off scoolant #Target for string
  6. I'm having some trouble getting my 4th axis postions correct. Some background... Using a modified MPmaster post. This vertical mill rotates about the X axis. This post works fine when my WCS is "top" I can rotate views about x and it posts the correct A values. I'm using version X MR2. For this application, I can not translate my cad between views. I had to create a new top view (A0) based on part geometry. From this top view, I had to create two more views.... An 92.35 rotation and an a 2.35 rotation. I also created a side view from my new A0 which I used as my WCS. When I use my new side view as WCS and specific rotations as T and C planes, my post generates A90 for every rotation. When I use the new A0 view as WCS, I get A0 for all rotations. Is there something that stands out as being wrong? My understanding is that my WCS needs to be set to the view that looks "along" my axis of rotation. This is how I've set it up, but it's not working. I did try a different post and got the same results, so I think I've set this up wrong somehow. Sorry for being so long winded.....
  7. All tools. Drills, endmills, everything. But now, after a little more digging, it works. I tried closing and re-opening, then I tried re-booting. I finally decided to open a different file and it worked. I opened the file that was giving me trouble and now it works again.... I don't understand, but I got my preview back. Thanks anyways!!
  8. My tool manager used to show me a preview of my tools as defined. For some reason, I don't get the preview any more. I searched the forum and it appears as though this is a first. Any suggestions?
  9. Yeah, that's what I've been doing. But I'm sure you all understand that sometimes you might not realise untill it's too late. My autosave is set to 5 minutes, so that's saved me a few times. It's frustrating more than anything. I think a simple "Are you sure you want to delete these operations?" would be an easy fix.
  10. I've been using Mill X MR2 for a year or so now and there are a few things that are driving me nuts. One thing in particular is pretty dangerous and unless you are paying extra careful attention and backing up your files dilegently, you can loose some or all of your operations. It's happened to me enough times that I know what to watch for now, but I figured it would be worth mentioning here so others can avoid the same problem. Here's the situation. I backplot or verify a selection of operations. Next, I decide to delete some geometry for whatever reason. If my operations manager is open and I don't click on the graphics window before pressing the "delete" key. It will delete the operations that I had highlighted without warning. In my opinion, mastercam should be asking if I'm sure I want to delete these operations. Just like how it asks if I'm sure when I try to delete geometry that's used in a toolpath or a named view. Is this the kind of thing that could be added to the next maintenance pack?
  11. Hi, I'm new. A programmer from the Great white North. Anyways, I'm trying to do some dimensions in version 10 and I find that I can't click on a dimension and drag it to a new location like I could in 9. In version 7, it was called "quick edit" I don't see anything in the "dimension" drop down menu. Any have a suggestion? I know I can just delete and re-create my dimension, but that's not very efficient.....
