  1. "Murray, are you wanting the surface to be exactly as you would see it in a certain plane?" Yes, I want the surfaces rotated flat. "Yes you can but it takes a few trys to get it in the right plane. You can mess with the WCS and do it but I am stupid and can't figure the WCS out. So I cheat and just create edge curves on 2 of the edges. If they are splines, go into 3-d mode and draw a line on top of them so you can analyze the angle . Then analyze it in one plane and rotate it to that angle. Then switch to another view and analyze it in that plane and rotate the amount needed. You have to do it a couple times to get it to line up but it can be done that way. I do it all the time. If I could figure the WCS out it would be alot easier though..." LOL , thats exatcly how i've done it in the past but there has to be an easier way.
  2. Is there a way to do this in X or even 9.1? I can't just rotate my part. I need to get the surface flat,i've had to send 3d models to the engineering dept in the past and they can do it in Auto Cad. Thanks
  3. "Message 128 in [surf_machining_procmsg] not found." I'm using version 9 MRO105. I keep getting this error message and i sometimes get the same error when trying to run a toolpath in (surface rough) contour. Thanks
  4. Video's from "Tips for manufacturing.com" gave me a good start.
  5. I bought the training videos from ....Tips For Manufacturing .com They were very helpful.
  6. Have ya tied rebooting? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes
  7. One of the Iges files came in but as soon as i rotated it with the middle mouse button it crashed again.
  8. Has anyone else had this problem? Whenever i try to open an Iges file it shuts MCX down and gives me the warning "Mastercam.exe has generated errors .......blah blah blah" Thanks
  9. Hello, newbie to the board here. I have been using MC for ten years and i'm having trouble with the jump into version X. I have version 9 but never really used it that much and most of my files are saved in version 7.2 The problem i'm having is getting my mc7 files into version X. I used the "import directory" function and copied all of my folders from 7.2 to X but it only copied DWG files . I then copied all my files into version nine and then tried the same thing from version 9 to version X and still no luck. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
