I need to create a variable pitch helix (screw) so I can run scallop down a diameter. I have done this with X5 by downloading a chook. But I have X6 and I cant find a variable pitch helix chook download.Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hello I am surface machining some D-2. 1/8em rough leaving .01 on drive, 3/32 finisher, 1/16 roughing an island leaving .003 on drive then it finishes island.I am getting 2 flute breakage on a 4fluted(1/16) ball. I have a 4"x.3w slot with .5x.16 island on one end. Slot is .250 deep,island .150 tall. Sorry for the confusion. Do I need a 2flute or 3 flute? Do I need to slow down? At F.008 PF.003. NEW territory 4 me!

When I try to create a new tool I select from the drawing on the geometry tab then it accepts that. Then I hit the check and I get a message that reads " Error finding outer boundary of holder". What is so simple that I missed?

For some reason I cannot turn on the c-axis on the rotary page. No matter what settings I have in the "PLANES" page, it won't let me highlight it. (Icon dot remains dark). Do I not have all the bells and whistles installed? I think we're getting there, but..........

I tried that. I am milling a surface between chuck and tailstock. There is different diameters and angles on this surface. I am using a ball endmill to cut. Oh yeah, this is a tapered part all way to the chuck. Using the milling side of the system it wont allow me to pick the surface to mill on. I can explain my problem well and I do not know where to start.

How can I apply toolpaths to the surfaces to be milled. I try the c-axis contour but I can not get it to work. Help Please! Can this be done?

How can I profile a surface on the lathe. I don't have a y- axis but on the profile I do not need it to do the job. I am trying to cut a surface. It should be just c,z,x move only so why can I not profile. Using X SP1.
