  1. Eh, I'm giving up on this release. I can't paste a number into the translate dialog box. I actually have to get a program to a machine, so I can't trust using this. It looks cool, but it seems like it is so buggy that it can't be trusted. Plus I wonder why they went to the trouble to redo all the toolbar icons, but the ribbon bar is still the original style as well as the translate/rotate dialog boxes.

  2. I am having the same problem. I didn't have much time to try it since I installed release 2, but I was going to try out release 3. It's almost unusable with the jumpiness/lag I have to wait for menu items to show up and model rotation with 3dconnexion controller is terrible. I wonder if there is a quick fix?

  3. I got the same error on Thursday. I essentially have a clean mcx7+ sp1 install. Said there was an error in depth cuts. I had no depth cuts. .005 deep, .03 inc feed plane, .05 abs retract plane, 2 inch clearance plane only at beginning and end. I had to just post it and use it. There seemed to be nothing wrong with it.

  4. I'm not going to try to be grammar police on a forum. I would be very busy. I just think in a software error message, the spelling/grammar should be correct.

One of our Mori lathes from 1999 tells you to "Please closed the door" on startup. That's from Japan though(translating error).

  5. I checked the keymapping first, and it doesn't have an assignment. I use a standard black screen saver provided with windows. I didn't have this issue with the beta programs and have never seen it in any previous version. I'm basically sitting with a fresh install and the minor changes detailed earlier. I learned its best not to trust any config files from a previous version via import. I create everything new.

  6. I must sound crazy. I changed my background to diagonal gradient, I made the grid visible, I imported my machine definition, control definition, and post for one machine. I saved all new default .config, .mtb, .kmp, .operations-7, .defaults-7, and .kmp as new files. ex: Jeremy_mill.config. I moved my op manager onto monitor 2 on the right, as well as the level manager. I rearranged my toolbars, and removed some toolbars from display that I don't use. Everything else I left as it was. I added some analyze and view options to my right click menus. No keymap mods. I didn't install any add-ons.

Looking through the event log, whenever there is any amount of time passed where I can tell it sat idle, ex: 16:27:27 - 16:38:11,

The first event is always "App=Mastercam Entry=blend_3_surfs"

I don't know what it is, but it's rather annoying.

  7. Oh yeah, the explorer is working fine, just the model origin is like 122 inches from the part. That seems to be where the rotation is from with it. I have "pick rotational center" programmed to a key on the explorer, but it doesn't function inside verify, therefore I cant pick a point

  8. I am using X7. I have an assembly that we are machining parts for. I received an assembly solid. To make each part, I open the assembly model, "save some" and save out the part I need. I don't physically change the location of the model, but just create new a new wcs for it.

    Things I've noticed:

When I do a transform on any geometry I've created, like a stock solid, the extents bounding box that shows a preview for transform is oriented with I'm assuming the "top" wcs and not the current wcs I'm using.

When I use backplot/verify, I cannot use my space explorer to rotate. The pick rotation center doesn't work and it will only rotate based on the actual model coordinates origin.

The XYZ min/max coordinates are of no use if you are using a different wcs as the show calculations based on the actual part location and not the wcs that is being used.

  9. I had the same problem moving to a win 7 64 bit machine. Install the latest intellipoint software and it should work fine. I believe I had to look in device manager under the hardware ID to figure out what model it even was since it has no markings on it other than "Microsoft." It works fine after updating it.

Sometimes the best solution isn't always "What you have sucks, buy what I use."
