it was inconnel 600 series and i went with a hanita cutter that lasted me 25 parts before i had to change it, thanks all for all your advise, its always good to find people with info worth using
THIS SHOP IS USING A MINERAL SOLUABLE CUTTING COOLANT, BUT I DO AGREE OIL DOES CUT ALOT BETTER. BUT WE WORK WITH WHAT THEY GIVE US AND MAKE THE BEST OF IT. BUT I DO HAVE SOME HANITA VARIMILLS AND I'M GOING TO TRY TO ROUGH WITH A HANITA AND FINISH WITH A DATA FLUTE. THANKS FOR ALL THE INPUT
any help very welcome, im machining inconnel with a 1/2 4 flute endmill, removing .05 total but im burning up the endmill after 1 part, its running at a speed of 650 & feed of 6.0, its a ag mill, but if you know of something that might work better thats great also, thanks
i might use some of my own data flutes 5 flutes as a test only
increased chip load on cutter but it only lasted about a 1/4 of the part before it snapped off clean, when i looked at the endmill it was still looking good but just broken.
any ideas on a better way to cut through 1/2" 304 stainless. ive tried changing feeds and speed but it chews my e/m up. im using a hanita varimill, but i perfer data flute, but i have to use what i get at work. any ideas, i hate to take 2 cuts i want to take care of it in one shot
