  1. I'll give it a shot tomorrow at work. What exactly does the change at point function do? Thanks
  2. Might sound dumb but, what is "highfeed"? Is it available in mill Level 1?
  3. I am milling with mastercam version 9. I would like to slow my feed rate entering onto a part. I am using a square shoulder 1" hog mill. 50% WOC and .100 Depth of cut in 1018 HR. As of now is use 100% tool diameter for lead in and no radius. I want to feed at 80 ipm once I am in the part but only enter at 50 ipm. I know in the lead in/lead out I can change the entry and exit feed rate. I can enter onto the part at 50 ipm but when the machine changes to the faster feed rate once in the part is does so too rapidly and "shocks the tool". Is there any way to make the transition between the two feed rates smoother? Or should I approach enry onto the part a different way? Possibly using a radius or ramping? Any suggestions?
  4. Thanks again. I've been taking a look at going to a few classes and have the tutorial version on my home computer so that is helping. I just wish I could save the work I do on it. Oh well. I am also going go to Chicago in Sept. for the IMTS show. Hopefully I can learn a bit more there.
  5. Thanks for the replies! Who were the local resellersthat helped you out? My reseller only has 2D basic classes which I am fairly proficient at. Although I still need a little help. Did any specific books help out? Were the tutorials online through Mastercam? Thanks
  6. How did you gain your knowledge of Mastercam? Classes? if so where and with whom. Experience? What tools did you use to help along the way? Book and online manuals? Not only 2D but multi-axis as well. Thanks, any info would be helpful.
