  1. Thad et all, did find some old posts regarding this issue, but there appeared to be no real solution. I was surprised to see there were no responses from the Mastercam Folks that I could see. I did notice some repetition on comments regarding installing an earlier version of MC after X2 was installed. So far today, no disconnected sims, so I will keep my fingers crossed. If it happens again I will try running the X2 CD and do a "repair" and see if that does it. D.
  2. John, nethasp or not, you are scaring me ! Hopefully someone else pipes in with more suggestions. Thanks ! D.
  3. Hi guys, I just loaded MCX-2 recently and noticed a problem. If the program sits idle for a period of time, I have a mssg on the screen that say " the sim has become disabled and the program will shut down" I get one chance to save the file. Is there a setting for a timer or something like that? I am on a net-hasp, and I am thinking maybe there is a timer on network licenses to release the license after being idle for some time, so other users have access to it? Any ideas are welcome. Thanks, D.
  4. Well, I finally found the solution to the beeping noise. Go to: - Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager - View - Show Hidden devices - Non plug-and play drivers - Beep Right mouse click on BEEP and pick DISABLE. You will have to re-start your computer for it to take effect. FYI Diego
  5. Our HP machines have built in speakers, but they are turned off, so I am guessing it is coming from the card? Thanks,
  6. We just switched from WIN NT to WIN 2000. Now when we click on empty space we get a beeping noise (one beep per click). For example when you choose DELETE and then you click on empty space rather than a line, spline, etc. CNC Support is looking into it, but I would like to pick your brains to see if any of you have had this problem and what your solution was. Our design room is not too big and there are four users, so the noise gets old real soon. Appreciate your help. Thanks, Beeped - out user
  7. I am running a Intel based HP Visualize machine with a P3 dual 1000Mhz, 512 RAM and NT4.0 When making mold layouts (2D prints) there are some large layouts that slow the computer processing tremendously. I have to wait about 10 seconds after every click making the job very tedious and overly long. Just so you know what I mean by large, the current mold design I am working on is a 2-cav MUD, the parts are 6.0" in diameter and a screen-statistics says 5500 lns, 6600arcs, 8200 splns and about 600 dims, notes, leaders, etc. Would it be better to upgrade the RAM to say 1000MB? or to upgrade the pentium speed? Please help! Thanks, Diego
  8. On MC9, when I bring a surface file in there are times when the file is shaded as it is loaded. On small files in no big deal, but on large files it increases the load time considerably. I have looked on the screen-config menu to see if there is an option turned on to "shade files as they are loaded" and found none. Any ideas? Thanks, Diego Gaston
