  1. International company in Morgan Hill, ca is looking for a Mastercam programmer to join our team for Makino Horizontals. We have 10 seats at Morgan Hill and 20 plus seats in 5 other countries. We are a fast growing company focused on quality through better engineering and equipment. We are looking for a motivated individual that wants to take their career to the next level and becoming more than just a programmer. For consideration, Please e-mail Alex @ [email protected]
  2. I talked with ICAM today and they said they have software that runs with Mastercam making it easier to use Mastercam for turn/mill programming. Is anybody familiar with ICAM . Alex
  3. Correct me if I am wrong but it sounds like we can get the machine and use Mastercam to get by and see if we need more later. We are also looking into getting a machine simulation software like Vericut , ICAM or IMS to check Mastercam’s G code (a must have for multi-spindle work). I don’t expect the Mori Seiki to be in house till late this year it gives us plenty of time to get ready and maybe Mastercam will add some turn/mill functionality. Alex
  4. Thank you all for the info. We were hoping that Mastercam was up to the task not just because of cost but also learning another software package.
  5. Hello all: We are using Mastercam for all our programming need and looking at adding a mill/turn type machine this year, Most likely a Mori Seiki NT 4250. Is anybody using Mastercam for programming their mill/turns. Is Mastercam capable of moving multiple axis simultaneously.
  6. Check out the Mitsubishi AJX type high speed milling insert cutters. We use one on 316 sst 2.5 diameter cutter 170 IMP .060 depth of cut 1.75 width That will run for 1 to 2 days before we have to index inserts. We run it dry on a Haas vf3 And it is just amazing. You will need to run it slower for the harder material but you can remove a lot of material fast and cheap. I am sure a local rep would love to demo this tool. Alex
  7. Keith your correct about that .012 will not leaving much wiggle room a 5/32 tool would be a better choice. It’s the whole operation that’s driving me crazy. To ramp down lead in to one wall climb cut around then lead over to the outer side climb cut that side and lead out with out any spindle up downs
  8. I am trying to develop a method for cutting :bandhead:0-rings with out editing code to get the desired tool path. Our o-rings need a good finish with out any tool entry marks so deburr can easily put a 16 finish circular lay pattern down. There must be a simple way to program a .200 wide o-ring using a 3/16 end mill with lead in and out’s with out spindle up and downs that won’t leave tool marks. Help I hate to hand edit my tapes Mastercam please put in a “ o-ring” button Alex
