Good afternoon,
Can someone help me with verify with solids. I have created a solid for stock, but when I set my stock setup to solid and pick it off the screen it does not work. When verify starts my stock switches to a round cylinder defined in my configuration? How do I keep the solid to respresent my machined part.
Thanks,
Greg.
Hello,
Does anyone know if I can insert new feed rates during backplotting. I am contouring and have some areas where the cutter is cutting air. Can I speed these toolpath segments up? I remember a co-worker doing this in Surfcam.
Thanks.
Greg.
Pleaes elaborate on that? I did figure out the H1 and H2 transform thing. It actually works pretty good when you know what you're doing.
thanks again,
Greg.
Good morning,
I am in search of an example to do the following.
operations performed on B0 and then transformed to B180 for second part. Also needs separate work offset B0 - H1 B180 - H2. Here is the kicker - all transformed codes for the B180 part need to op skipped or block delete with a /2. I have been told canned text is used, but I have yet to figure it out. Anyone have this set-up. The post may need some work?
Running Acramatic 950 control on Cincinnati.
Thanks in advance,
Greg.
maybe i am doing it wrong.
i select all the ops to be changed and then right click to get to edit common parameters.
Check in box for retract and set to 1". Hit green check marked and none of the ops are updated. they remain .1"
Hello All,
is there a quick way to edit all my retract heights using edit common parameters? i have programmed a part with .1" retract and I would like to change it to 1" globably? Please help i can's seem to get the edit common parameter function to work properly??
thanks,
Greg.
Good afternoon,
I hope everyone is looking forward to a great weekend. Can someone tell me the easiest way to switch the starting point for facing. I am in the front Tplane and I would like to face-off stock starting in the upper left hand corner and face horizontal zig-zag. This method allows the operator to see where the face mill is starting much easier. i have tried angle -180 and can't get it to work.
thanks,
Greg.
Good Morning,
Has anyone used helical boring in X2? I am trying to helical to a depth and step in for a smaller bore and do to new depth. For example bore 3.00 dia. 1" deep and step in X to bore 2.50 down next 1" without the tool extract for the part. I have been using two circles and select the corresponding point to separate the bore. Using two operations in the manager. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Hello,
Can someone tell me how to model a spindle for tool colision purposes. I am using X2 and have seen the V-flange holder and tool, but there are times when I am machining over the pallet table. i would like to check from a side view that the spindle cartridge does not hit the table.
Thanks in advance,
Greg.
Hello,
Does anyone kn ow how I can contour mill a square in X2 Mill 1 without swinging an ARC G2 or G3. Is there a way to do this automatically. I have already used the contour mill op with tool comp off and machined to drawn geometry (square), but as you know this requres creating extra geometry.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Greg.

Hello,
The company I work has been using fixtures that allow us to machine 2 identical parts on the same pallet fixture. So in other words we would machine the 1st part on B0 and the 2nd part on B180. I would like to use transform to copy my tool paths from B0 to B180 and also use a block delete when we have just one part. (We run very low quanities)
Thanks for you help,
Greg
Hello,
Can someone tell me a simple way to create a groove tool path. I want to draw a vertical line and let it be the center of my inserted groove tool and plunge it down and back out. The groove is the same width of the insert.
Help.
Thanks,
Greg.
What's the material?
I have used OSG slimline shrinker with solid carbide endmills in Alminum. These tools are awesome. If you plan an going fast you need a good setup (rigid) and shrink tooling with balanced holders. The difference is unbelieveable in finish, speed, and tool life.
