  1. So are you guys saying Windows 10 and MC 2017 on a laptop are not compatible? I'd rather stay with Windows 10, even though I like 7 better.
  2. I'd like to use a Gforce video card GTX 1060 or 1070. Anyone have experience with one of those cards running 2017?
  3. I've changed many of the configuration defaults to my own default configuration, but every time I open 2017, the defaults go back to the Mastercam defaults. For example, I changed the post processing default to overwrite and edit off, but it reverts back. What am I missing? I've done this before in my older version of MC and it always worked. Thanks, Gordon
  4. Thank you for the help. I will have to say, typing in x,y,z, plus the coordinates is way more inputting than the older program. Older versions all one had to do is enter the coordinate in "X" and hit enter and it would automatically go to "Y", then "Z". 2017 sure is a lot more typing to do a basic function. Way more chances of an error. Unless I'm doing it wrong....
  5. I recently updated Mastercam from X4; needless to say, 2017 is giving me some challenges, but for the most part, I like it and will just have to learn where everything is located. So, a very simple question. I try and create a point position and can not find anywhere to input the coordinates of the point to where I want to place it. I go to wireframe, point position, and the box appears with the info, but no place to input the coordinates? What am I doing wrong?
  6. Every time I use verify it changes my toolpath directory without notifying me; this has caused me to trash some parts because the old program did not get replaced in the controller. Can I fix this in a setting?
  7. Added the point at the end of the cycle and it worked great. Thanks for the help. Gordon
  8. Ok, I added a point move and it worked on the beginning of the drill cycle, but when I was finished drilling, the drill started back down to into the hole so it would of crashed at the end of the cycle. I'll try a point move after the drill cycle and see if that completes it.
  9. I have a tall part I'm machining, but the Tool change height is lower than the top of part zero. After a tool change I want the Z axis to move up 4.0 inches before the part moves under the tool. I know there is a way to raise "Z" before xy moves, but I don't know how to do that. Any help would be nice. Thanks, Gordon
  10. I had helix support off--it was checked no helix allowed, so I checked all planes supported.....is that correct?
  11. Thanks for the help--I'll check it out.
  12. When I treadmill or some 2d operation, I get faceting that I did not get when I used X3. I checked all the tolerances and nothing jumps out at me to be wrong. So I assume there is something I need to change that I missed. Any help?
  13. Trevor, did you ever get a post that works with the Prototrak SMX? The post you gave me worked fine in the older Prototrak, but not the Windows based SMX.
