  1. We are using TL-1 on graphite for 5 years untill now with dust extractor. It goes pretty well.
  2. 90% of time we will process diecasting dies made of graphite. 10% of bronze and mild steel.
  3. Greetings, Colleagues We are up to invest in new or used CNC lathe. Can you reccomend analogues of HAAS TL-3 (http://int.haascnc.com/mt_spec1.asp?intLanguageCode=1033&id=TL-3&webID=TOOLROOM_LATHE) to compare the prices? Kind regards, Aleksejs Krivcenkovs
  4. Well, unfortunately, we can`t grab the part over a stub. We use a special tool-holder, where cutting inserts are placed, it is across stock surface completely. But, there is a hole on the tool holder for the reason to let spring-type live center come inside and press the stock. The problem I have encountered is that it is difficult to find producer of live centers in Europe with reliable responsive engineering support, which can help to find good solution. Aleks
  5. Dear Colleagues, Our workshop is equipped with dual-spindle HAAS TL-15 and TL-25 machines. We have an ongoing project, where we need to think how to support a part using not a sub-spindle (custom-made toolholders restrict that geometrically) , but a tailstock, which shall be restraint to the sub-spindle by simple jaws. The problem is that sub-spindle is SERVO driven and if we will try to push the stock along Z axis with it, the HAAS conrol will display SERVO error. So, we need to apply a removable tailstock with some sort of spring, which will press a part and won`t press SERVO engine itself. In this connection, could you help to find a reliable supplier of such tail-stock? Perhaps, there are even a special tool producer who have standard program of such tail stocks with spring? By the way, we are in Europe, so companies located here are more preferable. Thank you for any leads in advance!
  6. Thanks to all of you, my american brothers!
  7. Where and how can I learn to write posts? We need posts for Haas TL-15, TL-25 lathe machines with bars.
  8. Verification in Mastercam really sucks... Slow and crappy. There were some good times when I worked in Catia v5...
  9. Yeah, Jason, in places where a tool goes along curved circular surfaces, finish looks like crap . But it seems to me that there is no circular interpalation in this areas at all. (I`ve chosen high speed scallop strategy.) . Maybe I should check .pst or hang myself.
  10. Thank you, Eric. We will try these tools in the nearest future. By the way, in Europe it has different name, not Blizzard
  11. Hello there! I wonder, if it is necessary to use G187 (P1/P2/P3) code on Haas machines (Fanuc control) together with Create arcs in XY check box in Arc Filter/Tolerance field. P1 - rough P2 - medium P3 - finish Please help! Here is the sample of NC code: % O0011 (PROGRAM NAME - ROUGH01 ) ( 10 MM VHM-SCHRUPPFRÄSER ) N100 G0 G17 G40 G49 G80 G90 N110 T17 M6 N120 M8 G187 P1 G187 E0.03 N130 G28 Z0. 12. We make moulds for foam parts, so Haas is enough in tolerance.
  13. The new Haas machine is here and we are looking for hight speed tools which can run with 15 000 rpm. With our old one, we were using Garant VHM tools, but up to 8000 rpm (rpm according to catalogue). Need to level up . I wonder if anybody could help us. And one more question from the newbie. If I know optimal rpm for a tool (from seller`s cataloge), how should I estimate optimal feedrate? I can use formula. But in tables, tooth loading is given for only 1 state. And it is different when I, for instance, change Z pass. Please help!
