  1. We have a lot of problems with alarms, the machine is semi conversational and the parameters don't allow us to do everything as it seems in mastercam, plus it cuts the program in less than 1/4 in some cases, and allows operators to edit programs at the machine, so please help, thank you
  2. using V9 McFan post with a Cincinatti millacron. How do I get my post to put out canned cycles for pocket milling "G24-G28". I am not extremly familar with post editing but would like to use this feature . Thanks in advance .
  3. Sambo, tooling is everything.I use HSS 1% of the time.Worth every penny. For aluminum, Mini-cut from international(competively priced too) is pretty slick, I don't have the spindle to get 2500 SFM but can cut full dia depth spinning 6700 at 85 IPM no problem. Although not the best application for helical boring at full dia.Can you get 1 15/16 insert drill. Even drilling with carbide followed by a insert counterbore(Can hold .002 tolerance) would fly compared to HSS helical bore.
  4. Hey guys, thanks for the advice. No, I cannot edm these holes. Also I am using a Mazak VTC41. We have rigid holders(I don't expect to use these on this),TG,DA,and ER collets. I'll probably get the Exocarb endmills from OSG and try them in an ER collet. It will probably be two weeks before this happens and I'll post my results. Nobody has tried to grind in a mill before... me neither but I still think it can work. Thanks again.
  5. Any sugestions on interpulating a 3.250 dia bore that has been hardend to 60 rockwell minimum 1/32 deep. The material in question is A8620 and is 5/8 thick. Aproximately 60 bores in a production shop so time is of the essance. Has anybody put a grinding wheel (2") on an arbor and tried to "jig grind", or is this a bad idea. The absolute highest rpms at my disposal would be 7000.I can control the amount of stock left before heat treat and I'm guessing around .002-.004 per side. Are there there some cutters capable of doing this, and lasting long enough to be worth the price? I also considered a ceramic or cermet insert on a boring bar. Any commments or sugestions would be greatly appriciated. Thanks as always.
  6. True True True. Fair enough I am a programmer/ operator ALL my stuff is wear. The oter guys use diameter and switching may complicate things. But if there is no solution here I'm fairly confident there is no solution... thanks as always.
  7. how can I get a true tangent lead in/out move using control comp. Wear works great but the operators like diameter comp....No changing their minds. I use and love the wear comp but when I switch to control the tool "semi-doglegs" sort of a 45 degree. Still using v9 for now, until the greater minds prevail. Thanks in advance.
  8. Lots of success even more left to accomplish. I need post processor education. Are there any books or classes available. I have looked quite a bit, and not much of anything. A little direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  9. Hey Bryon, you were right 0,10,13 I didn't have the null in there but it works now Thank you Thank you Thank you
  10. well it was a diamond but after I posted it I got this square. This also happens on cimco
  11. Yes, this works on notepad but even if I copy and paste it I still get a "?" I will paste it on here ♦ c please help this is going on two weeks.
  12. Yes but when I do this I only get a "?". Almost all the other ascii symbols do come up but I need this diamond. Thanks and any more suggestions. These Cincinatti's are so akward!
  13. I have a Cincinatti 850 that requires a EOT at the end of Transmission. I am using Cimco version 4.2.04. At the end of each post I need this ( it is represented as a diamond by ascii 4 ). When I try to post this value I either get a solid block or a ?.Is this because Cimco doesn't recognize ascii 4. Do I need another version. Or is the something else I can do? I am sure of the baud rate, parity, and wire configurations.Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. P.S. I am new to the forum and I must say, you guys are on top of things. I am looking forward to using the forum more often . Thanks in advance
