Is there a way of putting surfaces onto an STL file using Mcam X? I can open the file but I don't seem to be able to do anything with it, this is the first time I have played with STL files in Mcam.
Thanks
Hi Pete, No I'm not using a shortcut key, I am using Alt-C and then I browes to X2 MR2, it lets me use the C-Hook and generate a toolpath but then if I want to go back in and change any parameters the warning comes up. By the way how do you put a C-Hook on the toolbar?
Thanks for the info, unfortunatly I have tried this and it still doesn't work. The C-Hook works when I first use it but then if I want to go back into it to change some parameters it comes up with the warning. The C-Hook I'm using is RollDie.dll
now that I have updated to MCXMR2 my C-Hooks don't work, why is this? the message is Incompatible C-Hooks internal version number. Recompile and relink the C-Hook: C:MCAMXCHOOKSROLLDIE.dll
how do I recompile the C-Hooks?
Thanks
I have a few questions about this so any help would be great, I have down loaded MCXMR2 SP1 and now the C-hooks don't work why is this, can I use the RollDie C-hook using a standard 4 axis post, also when a program is verified part of the program is 180 deg out to the rest. I have a HAAS machine with 4th axis. (no comment about the HAAS machine please it dose what we need just fine).
ok thanks, should i have any problems if i open a file done in mcx2 in mcx2 mr2, if i do this and add any new operations to the file, when i post it it leaves out the new operations i have added.
I think I know what some of my problems are, you mentioned start new with all settings and configs, I did not do this. Dose this mean every time an upgrade comes out I have to redo all settings and configs?
Hi All, I'm sure this has been covered before but i'll ask agian anyway, should I uninstall mcx2 when I upgrade to mr2, I have been having problems with posting ever since I upgrated
yes this works fine, i should have clarified better what i'm trying to do. the text is already on the drawing that has been drawn in autocad so when i open it in MC the text is one entity not separate lines, there for MC dose not see it as something that can be chained
i am new to any sort of 4 axis work in MCX and having trouble with verify and backplot. if i use the rolldie function it will backplot the toolpath in the correct position but if i use pocket it shows the toolpath 90deg out to where it should be and if i verify it it will show 180deg out, why is this so.
I shold have said this earlier but I get a message come up when I post the program, the message is WARNING-POST ROTARY AXIS ASSIGNMENT ("ROT_ON_X") OVERWRITTEN BY OPERATION. I assume I changed something in the post I shouldn't have when I change it.
I checked my settings and they seem fine, the funny thing is the first feed call in the program is correct but the rest are not, all the z feeds are ok it is just the feed movement in x
can anyone help me with machining solid works solids? when i open a solid works solid any tapped holes are not turned into circles when i put edges on the model. I am new to machining solids so talk slowly.
I see how you came to this conclusion but yes I do understand absolute and incremental, the program you have posted is still not what I'm trying to achive. I want my retract to be Z10. feed plane to be Z2., and my top of stock to be Z0. I now believe this is not possible to do when using axis sub. Thanks for the help.
