  1. I just tried it with Add Depths but from verify and backplot I don't see any toolpaths being projected anymore. Judging from the toolpaths, it seems that the project finish toolpath is above the actual surface by a lot so it's not cutting it at all.
  2. I didn't check the "Add depths" box so that shouldn't be the problem.
  3. I have my depth cuts set to absolute.
  4. Hi I have encountered a problem with the surface finish parallel and the finish project toolpaths. My geometry consists of a random surface and I wanted to project a pocket toolpath onto the surface for letters. The problem is that once it finishes the finish parallel toolpath and starts the finish project toolpath for the pocket, the zigzag pattern is at a different depth as the finish pass for the pocket. I didn't have any offsets and I selected the same surface for both toolpaths so it shouldn't be happening. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  5. The thing is I can't change my resolution to anything higher since my screen is limiting it. So can I set Mastercam so that it fits the resolution in my screen? My screen is only 12", resolution is 1280 by 768. The "Font Size" is already at normal so I can't change it to anything better.
  6. I've recently reinstalled Mastercam X on my laptop which has a wide screen display but when I try to use the software, not everything is on screen. For example, for job setup, I can only see from the top to the "bounding box" button, can't see any further down. I tried making it display as a normal screen (1280 by 1024) but it's still off the page. Is there anything in Mastercam I can adjust to fix this? Thanks in advance.

    CNC Question

Um, I just saw on Google and they call it high density polystyrene foam.

    CNC Question

I don't know exactly what the name of the foam is but according to my teacher it's just high density foam that's extremely common. Perhaps the feed rates and spindle speed for some very high density foam would work.
  9. I was wondering what would be the ideal feed rate, spindle speed, and etc. for Denford machines while cutting styrofoam. I tried a few different rates but the surface finish didn't come out very smooth. Thanks in advance.

    Mastercam X

    Okay Thank you.
  11. A question about the contour toolpath. If I want it to be a climb mill instead of conventional mill, where can I find the choice because I can't find it in the parameters tab. Thanks in advance.
  12. Hi When I set the cutter compensation to wear, it should give the machine operator the opportunity to adjust for tool wear at the control right? Not in the computer? Thanks in advance.
