In the old versions of Mastercam you could pick manual drill cycles and it would drill in the same order that you picked your points. Is there a way to do that in version X2???
The nice thing about solids is you don't get the surface edges that don't line up by some crazy amount like 0.0001 and your cutter path notices it and won't let you cut at that z level. With solids you get a nice clean modal.
When we purchased our 2nd seat we just bought Mastercam Design w/solids. We now have level 3 w/solids. I think it is just an add on. It works pretty smooth, especially if your engineering dept. writes out parasolid files.
Not a big deal, I just wished it would default to display Ø then tool type so I didn't have to click them both every time I make a new cutter path. I talked to mitch at cad-cam technologies and he told me there was no way to set that as a default. Thanks for the help. Jeremy Barton
My version 9 defaulted in the order I wanted every time and I new right where the tool was located and it was faster. With X2 I have to go in every time I start a new cutter path and reset the order it displays my tools.
Does anyone know how to set the way my tool library displays tools by default? I went to Control Def. and op. defaults and set my .tools file how I wanted it, but it doesn't remember the order. I am trying to get it to where I open my tool library and it displays my cutters in order of flat, ball, then bull-nose from smallest diameter to largest like my version 9 did.
I wish they would change that so that every time I start a new file it does what I want. Less clicking. Not a big deal. Thanks for the help. Jeremy Barton.
