Does anyone know of a formula (if there is one) to calculate the safe amount of knife to stick out of a cutter head?
Is this more of a manufacturers recommendation?
The 1/8" is a coated carbide. The 1/2" end mill is HSS, not coated.
The ball nose is being used to machine drip grooves @ 1mm deep finished.
The end mill contours the part @ 4mm deep finished.
Could someone please give me some ideal feed / spindle speeds, along with depth of cut per pass for machining 3 mm thick bronze.
The tools I'm using are:
1/2", 2 flute end mill
1/8", 4 flute ball nose
Thanks in advance!
