  2. I am getting some really strange pencil motions. It looks like the correct motions are there, but in addition MastercamX makes what appear to be giant vertical and radial entry motions, from 10' above the part. They are not actually entry motions though, at the top of these I can see the correct entries. There are just some 10' of extra motion added to the toolpaths. All the other surface toolpaths in the same file are correct so I dont think there are some phantom surfaces or something like that. If I can upload a file somehow I would. Can someone tell me how if its necessary? Thanks, B
  3. Hi, I have loaded a custom stock shape from an stl file. I can see it correctly in the normal graphics window while making toolpaths, but when I go to verify, it switches to a generic rectangular block. Is there something I am not doing? thanks, B
  4. Containment, thats it. thanks very much. B
  5. sorry, I am quote a beginner. can you elaborate on that? If I draw a polyline around the area, how do I select that to be the boundary, in say, parallel finish toolpath?
  6. I am new to MasterCAM, i have previously used VisualMill. In that program it was possible to use chains to use 3D machining operations. I often have very complex geometry in which it is too difficult to select all the drive surfaces that I want to machine. I would rather just choose a single chain and do surface machining within that chain. Can this be done? Thanks, B
