I'm trying to thread mill a 10-32 hole. On all of the thread mills I've used in the past the teeth are the pitch of the thread. On this particular tool, they are .062 apart. I'm not getting the correct pitch in the thread. I used the following:
G1Z-.300
G41D3X.117Fxx
G3X.117Y0Z-.2688I-.117J0
G1G40X0
What am I doing wrong? Should the distance traveled in Z be 1/2 of the pitch or something?
Thanks in advance.
I have an internal NPT thread in a blind hole. Inserts are failing randomly due to chips in the bore. Is there a way to break up the G76 cycle so that it does half of the thread (radially), stops to clear chips then finishes the thread?
I would just run the tool from the bottom coming out but I don't have the right hand bar atm.
My 1st post here. My name is Dan and I work for Kennebec Tool and Die in Augusta, Maine.
When I post code for a multi-sided part, instead of it outputting A0, A90, A-90, back to A0, A90 etc...I'm getting A0, A90, A270, A360, A450...How do I get it to output only signed values from the A0 position? Thanks in advance.
