(Dimeter of hole - diameter of tool) / 2 x .4142 = Y Put Y in in length and radius and 135 degrees in sweep. This has the tool come down in the center of circle every time."
  5. Hello all. I have a part .375 thickness with a hole 1.000 dia and .020 chamfer 45 deg on both side. I can do a chamfer on top of hole , but have trouble to figure out how to make a contour at bottom . Just use 2D. Thanks for your help.

  9. Thanks Kannon, but the Hass head doesn't read the "A" move in program, it only read whatever we manualy program for it and it can't move at the same time with X or Y.
  10. Sorry about hijack, but my problem is about engrave too. I try to engrave some letters on 2.00 dia cylynder, but we do not have 4th axis machine, only a Hass indexing head. Need help. Thank a lot.

  12. Thank for your advise, but that what i did in verson 8.1 , check Multipass and check Depth cut which is control by " by contour" or ' by depth" Im i missing something ?
  13. Hi all. I just try out with X3 on a simple contour toolpath depth cut mark( 2 steps down)and 2 rough path around a 2 by 2 square part. As a result, i always get 2 rough path with same z depth and 2 rough path at final z depth. i can't get the tool path " by contour " Any idea would be appriciate. Thanks

  15. Hi all. I'm using a 1.000 dia endmill on a circle toolpath to cut an island .700 dia with .150 depth. Then i replaced with another tool 1.000 dia with .250 corner radius, island came out with bigger dia. Wonder if Mastercam know radius of tool, so it can caculate it out. Need some explain. Thanks.

  17. OK, Thank you for your reply but i don't know how to post a file up here. Let me put it this way: imagine we have half a ball with dia 2.000'' then there is a slot width .1875 by .187 deep (from surface of the ball )with full dia at bottom goes from left to right( center line of ball ). I though i could use a .1875 ball endmill to create that slot but it did not come out right. Thanks again for reading this.
  18. i would appriciate all the help from everyone. Let say i have a ball 2.000 dia on a vise and i need to use a 3/16 ball endmill to create a radius on 1/2 ball (.8125R by .1875 full R ). I try to work with XZ plane but it did not come out right, so here it is , i know this place is for help. Thanks for reading this.
  19. Is there any way to "see" how to machine a part from blue print ? Or we just go from experience? Love to hear from Masters.
  20. There is some old saying that if you are master in some old version of Mastercam ( v8, v9) you still master up to date no matter what new version of Mastercam ( x,x2,x4 ....). Need idea from all Masters. Thanks.

    Hello all. What if we use M46 or not M46 before drilling cycle ? And how can we change post to output M46 for Fadal format1 with MC X3 ? Thankyou.
