  1. Thank you for the directions and help. Went to the training site, looks promising-most likely will try it out for a month to start.
  2. Thanks for the quick reply. We are attempting to mill an oval groove around a aluminum cylinder. Z would be constant I picture Y not moving-but the cylinder would rotate about X And the tool would be moving along X-hoping axis sub will allow that geo to occur.
  3. Is Level 1 mill capable of 4th axis work? Any version Thank you
  4. Thanks Dave-exactly what they are asking for. Damn-this is a solid resource.
  5. Thad, they are looking for a print for their job file that has the co-ordinate values-as a record. In autocad they can run a LISP routine and it places the values with a leader. Apparently they strip away all the dimensions and just have the co-ord values. Trying to get them to just totally make the switch to Mcam and forget about other apps. (Uphill battle)
  6. Got a few guys in the shop that want to know if you can obtain a print from Mcam that has the co-ordinate values of selected points? I know they could use analyze to get them one by one-but they are looking for a part print that has them. Currently they use autocad-not my idea of a good solution-but it is what they are comfortable with.
  7. Thanks for the pointers. Yes, OS was changed and too many people have access to the 'pute. Will purge the whole system, go out and get the latest drivers, and keep my fingers crossed that they powers to be will see fit to update to X. Thank you for the help
  8. running V8-the arrow denoting chain direction is gone. Is there a on/off button somewhere? Or does it sound like a corrupt install? It used to be there. Trying to get GM to step us up to X-but going is slow-so we have no choice but to run what we have. Thank you
  9. Anyone have a recommendation for a book to start learning 4th axis work? Or is this something that just gets learned along the way? Going to be getting one for our Mazak VMC-so far no training, no manuals,no experience among the guys that will have to run it.
  10. yep. On this site-just a passing comment.
  11. Nice to see the X graphic show up to replace V9. Now-will the number of seats ever change from the 79,000+?
  12. Thank you for the quick and good response. Works like a charm. Will save me a lot of redundant work.
  13. Can someone explain to me why geometry brought into MC via Autocad will allow a toolpath-but the text will not? Customer is asking for some text data to be engraved on the part-for now we are redrawing it in MC. But that is all extra time we think should be avoidable. Thanks
  14. Well, all the info was a help-but jack hit it right on for what I was looking for. The program ran the first time out-1 tweak on final size and away we went. Now that door is open I am looking at doing alot of my jobs differently. we have had the 1 seat for a couple of years now-nobody uses-what a shame. Well, that stops now-thank you.
  15. Thanks Jack-just getting started with the Mazak-so much to learn. Will get to it tonight.
