  1. Im trying to use a pencil toolpath to clean up a radius and a face of a part, the toolpath is working correctly except for the life of me I cannot seem to get the lead in/out to change from the default. Ive tried making changes to every setting in the "DIRECTION" settings page with no success. Ive attached a screen shot and the green line shows where I want the toolpath to start (outside of the stock). Any tips would be appreciated, BTW Im using X5. Jim
  2. Hello, Im trying to rough a boss feature in a part made from 304 SS and I want to use a small stepover (.015 or so) with a .125 stepdown. I am using the Surface High Speed Core Roughing toolpath in X5 and everything is coming out great except the lead in angle is 90° which seems to be wearing the end mill faster than it should. I am using a 1/2" carbide EM with a .030 radius, running dry. Im noticing some small chips on the corners of the mill and from the sound of it I feel it might be the lead in angle of this toolpath. I cant for the life of me get the angle to change. I have attached a few screen shots, the boss is highlighted yellow and you should be able to see the toolpaths. The marjority of the material is removed in a previous HSM operation. Is there a different roughing toolpath that might give me more control? Thanks, Jim
