  1. Had a bad thing happen back in the day. Used a water based coolant and it caused corrosion on the Mag. After plating we got orange peel. The shop lost big money. After that we stored in process parts submerged in Kerosene. Ya sounds crazy, the idea was storing parts in a oxygen free invironment. Probably a better way now, but it worked and we never had a fire. ;)

  2. Tool Libraries are designed to be modified for your specific needs. It would be impossible to design one for all applications. I have 5 different Tool Libraries that are set up for different material types. I also have machine specific Tool Libraries that are customized to take advantage of higher spindle speeds. cheers.gif

  3. In the screen shot your showing I drag the tool I want up to the part tool list and it retains its library tool #. Then I change it to what I want. You might look in properties under tool setting and see if the box labeled assign tools sequentially is checked. I have had similar problems and just edited my tool numbers. cheers.gif

  4. The ramping functions are nice to use here and there but I would drill a hole slightly larger than the End Mill at the start point, drop the tool in and 2d contour for rough and finish with another tool. Ramp tool paths arnt very efficient. My 2c cheers.gif

  5. We also run a Net Hasp which is located on the server. Mcam and mcedit are on each work station. Mcam source and code files are on the server. so is mcedit on your machine or the server?

  6. We are running version X MR2. If you have geometry groups it jacks-up the operations manager. It will take toolpath operations and combine them with operations that use another tool and that toolpath group will disappear. I cant be the only one this has happened to. confused.gif

  7. Its funny how people in the "planning department" dont consider the manufacturing process when they define the required material size. The job takes longer with added operations. They look good for saving money on the stock and manufacturing looks bad for taking to long. I would rather do it all myself. cuckoo.gif

  8. Its been awhile but create the lettering toolpath above the part and project it onto the "Surface" of the part using surface project toolpath. I also created the surface at the radius where the tip of the tool will cut.

Guhring High Helix drills work good on Delrin Feed and speed is a pretty broad window. Good Luck cheers.gif
