I program for a 5 axis DMG, 2 Kuraki horizontal mills and 2 Mazak integrex's. I also control all tooling and outside vending.

EXTREMELY relevant to know how many grams of carbon emissions each tool will be responsible for. I know I have always been worried about that - for roughing passes especially.
I hope this is sarcasm.....

In my lifetime of machining we've gone from "machine shop" to "adult daycare center". Including and especially Doosan.
I almost spit my coffee out on this line! I just hit 60. Been using MC since 1989-1990 V3.1 I believe. GREAT THREAD!!

Im so glad to know I'm not alone in my decision to still use wireframe. I was afraid to tell people because I thought they would call me a Dinosaur
"Why do you do it that way? Isn't that old school?" I say it may be old school. but I know what works. Takes a little longer, but I can be relatively sure of the outcome.

Try the two ends first than the straight lines. Direction does matter. You must be using 2023 so I can't open your file. Hope this helps.

When I was coming in to the trade it wasn't uncommon to get screamed at by the foreman or shop owner until their face turned purple. If you even raise your voice to someone or make a sarcastic comment these days you have to worry about someone needing personal days in a safe space for being verbally assaulted.
I am glad I learned the trade 35 years ago when there were old timers to keep you in line and getting told how to do it the right way!

Engineers never make mistakes....they make revs!

They remove more material faster, use more than the tip of the tool and they are less stressful on the spindle and the machine in general. USE THEM!

I have different libraries based upon the materials. That is one way.

If you are using solid chians you canchange the starting position when you are selecting it. If you want to change anything with your solid chain pick the edit button and you have all the choices the wireframe does. If you are using wireframe to drive your chain you can go into chain manager and change what you want.

I would rather not say. I don't want to seem like I am bashing anybody.

Does it usually take 5 months to get verification software? Bought it in October and we are still waiting for it. They say they are configuring our machine. Our machine is a DMG DMU 160 duoblock 5 axis.

Anyone know of a vendor who carries these? I can buy regular & have them ground, but if they're available off the shelf, that's even better.

Just purchased NCsimul. Waiting on them to build our package. Hopefully I made the right choice. Can't give you any feedback yet.

I think they are doing something in the background we have had issues with our hasps the last couple of weeks.

Bob I feel your pain!! We have a DMG Mori 5 axis Mill with turning capabilities its like pulling teeth to get basic features to work especially on the turning portion. Can't get a gundrill cycle to work. Its been almost a year working on a post. When updates take a month to be addressed! It has a Heidenhain control some code posts as Fanuc gcode. Then I asked well what is the control looking for well isn't that what I paid you to do??? absolutely no support!

Anyone else using these YG I-One drills? They seem to be working really good so far. Just wondering if anyone has had any issues.
