Hi, are you using a simple null modem cable pin out? Also be sure you have the ascii code 35 at the beginning and end of the program. That looks like the percent sign.
And you should be using "continous download " option which you probably are.
Try that. btw, the ascii symbol "%" is not just the percent sign, I think you have to hold the ALT key and type 37.
If that doesnt work let me know and I'll check my settings when I get to work tomorrow

Hello all,
I have a question and hoping someone can help. I'm home now but I run an older (94' model) Cincinnati Sabre sx500 mill.
I use a dnc program to transfer smaller code but from time to time I need to do a continouous download for large programs.
I can do this with a Cincinnati Sabre 1250 all the time but the settings seem to be different for the sx500 model. I have it far
enough along that it will connect and load the first time to memory. On the pc, it will continue to dl'd and scroll the code off the screen.
I will have to look it up but I have a couple ascii codes at the beginning and the end...and these codes work with the 1250 sabre.
These codes tell mastercam (version 9) to wait till the loaded program runs practically all the code before loading the next section.
I don't have my chart in front of me but one ascii code is the % sign and the other is a solid black box. I have those at the beginning and end.
Does anyone know of another ascii character that would tell the software to load, run, dump, load and so on?
Thanks
I can post the settings of the mill and pc tomorrow
Hello,
Just wondering if anyone has ever gotten a "axis reversal error" when using cutter comp on an elipse created with mastercam 9.1. And what to do to correct it.
Thanks
Hello All,
We recently had power surge and it scrambled the parameters in the controller. I was wondering if anyone had this milling center. We had most of the info on a hard copy but some of the parameters are off. I'm looking for #52 and #53 within the "System commissioning Data" . I have two sets of numbers that I'm switching between as a work around. It's an older machine, around 94' maybe. What I'm hoping to regain is listed in the options screen when the mill 1st comes up. I'm looking for the following options: extended programming, continuous download, pallet offsets, ....there are a few more, I'll have to look tomorrow morning but it involves the tool offset override page.
Thanks everyone,
Have a good week
Hello All,
I'm trying to get version 9 to run on vista.
It seems to be having a hardware acceleration problem. Get a file and it doesn't show up.
Snap or drag a line and I get flickering.
The laptop has an intel videocard but acceleration settings do not show up like I'm used to seeing...
any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Hello all,
i know I'm doing something wrong so I need a little help. I can't seem to get the correct tooth form when using the Gear C-hook in version 9.1
I feel I have good numbers up to the roll diameters and dimensions but when I actually create the form, it looks kike a spiral-graph...lol
Thanks
Actually, it was created to I.D. bracket dimensions. The material is only going to be approx .025-.030 thick. I have created geometry that is very close to what it needs to be...I just wanted the correct acurate proceedure in case I needed it in the future.
I was told that some program called Fabrix would do it. It's sheetmetal software I suppose.
Thanks again
I work at South-Side Machine Shop Inc., but we do not have a waterjet. I'm just trying to get the flat geometry so I can convert to a Dxf. We'll send that to the waterjet Guys. I'm not sure but I believe we get ours done in St. Louis, Mo.
I can find out tomorrow if ya need to know.
Thanks,
See ya

Hey Thanks Murraymold3!! I'm in Paducah, small world isn't it...lol. I'll try that one tomorrow when I get back to work, I only have Draft at home...is it for ver 9 or x2?
Thanks
Hello again,
I need a flat shape that I can waterjet and then roll and bend a couple of tabs. The part will be stainless, approx .03 thick. It will ressemble a cone that is split with tabs bent out for a bolt and nut. I have 3 dimensional geometry drawn but I need to roll the geometry out to a flat shape for cutting. I have ver 9.1 and access to x2. Are there any c-hooks or menus I'm missing?
Thanks
