  1. does anybody have this machine? if so could you please tell me what type of fuse is used for the spindle because one of my students blew it and removed it then threw it away and i can't seem to find where in the manual this info is. thanks, Derek
  2. see, thats the problem though. In MC I enter the diameter of the circle as .37 and for some reason when it is turned into code it turns into .3725. Is that just something that mastercam does and why does it do that?
  3. I have a program that I am running on a prolight cnc mill and I have been having the same problem when using mastercam produced code. Every once in a while when doing radius' I get the error "NC code error-R>-:Radius too small for motion" has anybody ever had this problem? How do i fix it?
  4. could someone please help me out. if anyone has a post processor for mastercam (orac lathe) that would be a lot of help too. [email protected]
  5. hi, i was wondering if you know if it is possible to create a do-loop containing an arc. if you know how to do it then please let me know. i am a new user, also, we are not able to input direct text commands. we use .ora that is created when we input our numbers in the program we use. 6. hey cadman, yea, i looked and couldn't find it. i am not sure but maybe i am looking in the wrong places, would you possibly be able to just email the post for the lathe to me, thanks, Derek [email protected] ---------------------- Los Gatos High CADD CAM Engineering course
  7. hi, i have tried there website and i cannot find out anything. i have not gotten a single response. also, whenever i try making toolpaths for the geo i have it won't generate the path. It gives me an error message, i have tried closed chain, open chain, whatever i could think of. i really just need a Denford Orac lathe post processor and how to do a toolpath. i drew the top half of my geo then closed the chain with two lines going down and to the right, then after that i tried using lathe rough toolpath and it doesn't work. does anybody have a tutorial that they could give me because i am a student and can't afford one of those $400 ones. If you could upload a short video of you creating your geo, then creating a toolpath i am sure i could figure it out from that. thanks, Derek
  8. I have looked and they don't have current mastercam x2 post processor files. only old ones. will those work? I didn't try them out because i didn't think they would work. My instructor found a sample G-code but now instead of figuring out how to implement the file himself he wants us to setup the control computer. but i guess it is good experience.
  9. the generic post i have does not output the correct code for our machine. i am looking for a simple little program and i have not found one yet.
  10. I am a user of mastercam X2 educational version and I am currently enrolled in a CAM class at my high school. My teacher just got a new Denford Orac Machine and wants to test it out but hasn't had any free time in the last week because he also teaches other classes. We have not yet been able to write a simple program because we have not learned it as we just got the machine and just finished setting it up yesterday. i am wondering if anybody is willing to let us use a short program that you have written in G-code in order to test our new machine. We don't want it to be that big so please limit diameter to 2 or 3 inches, length no more than 5. Thank you very much if you can help me. Los Gatos High School CADD/CAM 2nd year

  12. I am a relatively new user to mastercam X2 and i have figured out how to work the simple things. i am trying to create a simple part on a lathe and i have created the toolpath and the part itself, i just need the post processors for the Denford Orac machine that we have. If anybody can help out that would be great, email is [email protected] i need this relatively soon, like tomorrow or the next day would be great. Thank you, Drex
  13. now that i have only half the geo, what do i do from there to draw my toolpath. i have tried just using lathe rough toolpath but it doesn't seem to work at all. i must be doing something wrong. Could somebody please, just explain clearly how to create a toolpath for the geo i have created. it is only the upper half of the drawing and it appears almost like a spinning top. do i start the toolpath at the outside of the drawing or on the inside nearest zero. i would assume the outside but i don't know how MC works with the lathe. I would just like clear instructions for creating a lathe toolpath. thanks
  14. i created a lathe drawing in the proper view but now i need to figure out how to create a toolpath for that drawing. i have the entire drawing and not just the half geometry. should i only have half the geo. i really need someone to explain it to me clearly. thanks in advance
  15. hi, can someone please just explain how to create a toolpath using mastercam on the lathe. i cannot figure it out and need help. thanks in advance
