That fixed it...Thanks so much...In regards to the poster that asked if this manual was any good...So far it seems to be pretty simple to follow but I haven't got passed the first few chapters.

Excuse me I loaded DirectX v9 from the installation CD not activeX. I didn't install a copy of MasterCam V9. I'm not sure what these 2 file extensions are used for (.ocx)and I tried looking for them at microsoft but was not successful. Thanks for responding.

I recently purchased a manual titled "Learning MasterCam X Mill 2D step by step". Included with this manual was a demo CD of MasterCam X. I loaded it into my laptop (following the installation of Net Frameworks v1 and activeXv9). Everything installed on my computer fine but when I double-click the start-up icon I recieve an error message that MCBitmap.ocx and MCListCtl.ocx files are missing and Mastercam can't start. I have checked that those files are on my computer and they are but can't be openned because of the file extension .ocx. Any ideas on how to resolve this issue would be appreciated. I really want to learn how to use MasterCam Mill but without being able to use the demo version to follow the lesson plans will be impossible...
