gms1, thanks. If you could bear with me a bit further... I see sheet1- if that is Tabbelle 1 in the original file named Format_Sheet.XLT. So I do see where the data (tool_nr, tool_dia, prog_nr, etc) is going. If I load my template, which I made for Gibbscam a while ago, all the data is in the wrong cells-which is expected. Is the key to changing the cell addresses in the .xss file? Do I need to open that file and edit it, and if so, what program will open it? Thanks.

I have read whatever I could find in this forum regarding customizing Excel-based setup sheets with X+. I followed "gms1"'s suggestions to copy the original Format_sheet xlt and xss files, renaming them "test" and then using the X+ interface to add options. Maybe I missed something, but how does one get the information (date, tool number, etc) sent to the correct cell? I want to adapt an Excel template I made for another CAM program to use with Mastercam X since this is a layout that has worked well. Any help appreciated, thanks.
