1st off, I have been on this sit for a while now, and have learned quite abit, this site is extremely helpful. I have recently started a new job, and although I have not had any problems 2D programming, I am starting to work with IGES files. My question is, how do I? I have imported the file, but I cannot do anything with it????

Hello everyone, WOW I just finished my first MasterCAM training courses at Axsys, located in Wixom, Michigan. I have nothing but fantastic things to say about this software and the whole Axsys company. The training was perfect, I have about 16 years tool room experience, and only about 3 of those with SmurfCAM. Iam totally blown away at the ease of this software. If anyone is looking for training I totally recommend Axsys.

We are currently roughing out the casting with a 1" facemill, leaving approximately .025" for the finisher, it is cast steel, the bore depth is about 1.1". I can't remember exactly where I seen this formula at!?! Thanks again, Slainte:cheers: Sean

I have a question about surface finish. I have a bore(6.700") that we are currently interpolating, with a 63RMS finish. We are currently running a 5 flute carbide endmill @ 3972rpm, 65IPM. I was wondering is there any sort of calculation or fomula for figuring out the RMS. My concern is based on changing over to a boring bar, both for speeding up the machine time and diameter tolerance. Any info is always appreciated. Thanks

Hello All, I'm new to the whole Mastercam softwar, previous Surfcam user, I have installed a copy of the X2 demo on my laptop, and whenever I move the cursor off the graphics area, the entire graphics area(background) turns to white? My project is still there I just have to move the cursor back onto the grpahics area. this is becoming a nusiance more than anything, my question is there a way for me to stop this. FYI I have a HP 9815nr notebook with a NVidia 7150 card? If your wondering why, I really want to learn MC and my shop only has Surfcam. I'm hoping by the end of the year to get out on my own and this notebook is just a way for me to learn the software, working afternoon also. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank-you
