  1. Thats kind of a wierd one for me Carl. Plunging in Z while advancing in Y with cutter comp on so that it affects Y.

If I was doing this, I'd program the numbers just like you have and then measure the cut and adjust the offset Y number to get the result I need.

Sounds like very interesting work. All I've ever cut is metal.

    HTH.

  2. The post method guarentees 3 important things: 1)Consistancy...the information is always formatted the same and that helps the operator during his setups. 2) I don't run the risk of forgetting something because the post asks me every time I make a change and a thorough header help with tracability in case there's a boo boo. 3) And most important, it makes my boss happy to see the extra communication between programming and manufacturing which alot of times just wouldn't happen without stuff like this.

prompts me for specific input and that saves me from the risk of forgetting to enter the info.

  3. oops. CL-707 I see. Not familoar with that one.

Start with a post that is closest to what you require.

I'd get a sample of the required code and just change the coolant on/of to the shutter open/closed.

add a code for gas on/off.

Change the spindle on and speed to laser on and power.

add a dwell afer the shutter on to go thru the mat'l.

    feed rate stays the same.

change whatever else you need like program rewind is probably different.

Put up a sample of the code that the control requires and someone here will help you out.
